More and more women are making the switch to menstrual cups, not just because they're better for the environment, but because they provide easier, cleaner and healthier periods.

Not to mention the disruption to the multi-billion dollar tampon industry.
They don't want to provide women with free healthcare tampons?

Fine, we found a better alternative.

What is a Menstrual Cup?

A menstrual cup is a feminine hygiene product that is inserted into the vagina during menstruation.
Its purpose is to prevent blood from leaking onto clothes.
Menstrual cups are made of flexible medical grade silicone and shaped like a bell with a stem. The stem is used for insertion and removal. The bell-shaped cup seals against the vaginal wall just below the cervix.

Every 6-12 Hours (depending on flow) the cup is removed, emptied, rinsed, and reinserted.

Menstrual Cup VS Tampons

Unlike tampons and pads, cups collect menstrual fluid rather than absorbing it.
This makes their long-term cost lower than that of disposable tampons or pads.

More importantly, tampons increase the risk of TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome) in two ways,  tampons that are left in the vagina for a long time encourages health risking bacteria to grow.

Tampons are designed to absorb. This can leave the tampon sticking to the vaginal walls causing tiny abrasions when they are removed. Leaving one open to various infections.

Menstrual cups are also more practical and eco-friendly than pads and tampons.

One cup is reusable for up to ten years or more.

Disrupting a Billion-Dollar Industry

The tampon was invented in 1931, but there has been little to no innovation in the 85 years. Until now.
A revolution is beginning in an industry that has been stagnant for too long.

The tampon companies have seen a massive dip in sales in the past couple years since menstrual cups have made an appearance.
If this trend continues the companies will be forced to lower there ungodly high prices. Making a much needed feminine health product, widely available to everyone.

Environmentally Friendly

20 billion tampons and vaginal hygiene products are disposed of in North America alone.

Unlike disposable period products, the Menstrual Cup is reusable for up to 10 years
The lifespan of the cup means potentially saving the environment for the packaging and material waste of more than 2400 pads or tampons.

To put that into context, one will save the environment for one truckload of waste in 10 years for every single person who switches to a cup.
